The disciples must possess a sympathetic heart. 3. Given these conditions, the Scriptures are opened with the utmost ease. III. THE RESULT OF THE OPENING OF THE SCRIPTURES. 1. The two disciples understood that a thorough unity of design pervaded the whole Bible. 2. They perceived that Christ was the great theme of the Scriptures. 3.
