We say it matters not what circumstances are, we all can be good. But it is manifestly easier for some to be than others. It becomes a religious duty to make our outward circumstances helpful as far as possible, relieving us from undue care, and helping us to keep a quiet spirit. II. A GOOD MAN DISCERNING THE DANGER OF EXTREMES IN CIRCUMSTANCES. Under them men ever lose their power of self-restraint. III. A GOOD MAN PRAYING TO REACH AND REST IN THE HAPPY MEDIUM.
