1 Peter 1:17-21 And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work… 1. This sets out His love so much the more, that being innocent, would suffer for us wicked wretches. 2. This teaches us to imitate Him, and in all things to be innocent as He was. 3. In that Christ being so innocent, was yet willing to suffer and offer His blood, let Us imitate Him in this also; let us be patient in bearing troubles and persecution; we must suffer for His cause (though causelessly) cheerfully and willingly.
