Its effects upon us have been only evil. III. NOT FROM DUTY. It is opposed to God, who commands us to crucify it. IV. NOT FROM INTEREST. Only misery and death aver to be reaped from it (Galatians 6:8). We are debtors to the body, which is God's creature (Acts 27:34; Ephesians 5:29), but not debtors to the flesh, which is Satan's production (Matthew 13:38; 1 John 3:8).
