Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, I. If we would keep ourselves in the love of God, WE MUST CAREFULLY SHUN EVERYTHING WHICH WOULD BE LIKELY TO DAMPEN THE FERVOUR OF OUR AFFECTION, or extinguish this holy fire. The love of God cannot live in the heart where any known sin is allowed to enjoy quiet shelter. II. If the Christian would keep himself in the love of God, HE MUST BE ATTENTIVE TO THE DUTIES OF PRAYER, AND THE STUDY OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. The neglect or the careless performance of either of these cannot but have the effect of cooling the ardour of godliness; and, in the end, of causing it to decay and perish. III.
