Numbers 32:23 But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. One thing which has much to do with leading people to commit sin, is the thought that they can do it in secret, and not be found out. Many a boy is tempted to play truant, instead of going to school, because he thinks that his father and mother will never know anything about it. Many a robber breaks into a house at night, and steals what he wants, because he thinks that no one sees him, and so his sin will never be found out. But here in our text, we have a warning against sin because it is sure to be found out. I. And the first thing which must make it sure that sin will be found out, is — THE PRESENCE. OF GOD. II. The second thing which makes it sure that sin will be found out, is — THE POWER OF GOD. III.
