The state of the mind is known only by its exercises; and spiritual exercises indicate the operations of the Spirit of Christ. I. SELF-ABASEMENT is a certain evidence of true religion. It is a gracious exercise, the effect of a saving work of the Spirit in the soul. II. ENTIRE DEPENDENCE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is certain evidence of a state of grace. III.
