1 Corinthians 2:10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. I. TRANSCENDENT IN CHARACTER. 1. The deep things of God. Reason suffices in other matters; these can only be revealed by the Spirit, who teaches us to cry "Abba, Father." II. AN ABSOLUTE AROUND OF CERTAINTY AND CONFIDENCE. 1. He knows all things. 2. Reveals that God is love. 3. This truth is as unchangeable as God Himself and becomes the immovable ground of our happiness. III. SUFFICIENT FOR ALL OUR SPIRITUAL NECESSITIES, We want nothing more when this love is revealed in us because — 1. His gracious purpose is disclosed. 2. All the miseries of our nature are met in Christ. 3. Christ is revealed as a new source of life and happiness. (J. Lyth, D. D.)
