Apostolic Irony
1 Corinthians 4:8-13
Now you are full, now you are rich, you have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God you did reign…


I. EXPOSES PRIDE.

1. It is empty, yet imagines itself full of wisdom.

2. Poor, yet regards itself as rich in every good gift.

3. Dependent, yet would reign as a king.

II. CONDEMNS IT —

1. By an indirect assertion of its folly.

2. By an implied consciousness of personal insufficiency.
