Psalm 110:3 Your people shall be willing in the day of your power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning… I. THE PROSPECT WHICH THE TEXT AFFORDS. 1. Its nature. Light pours in upon his understanding — Divine influence renews his heart. The kingdom of God is within him, and he is swayed by the sceptre of redeeming love. 2. Its effects. True holiness is, in strict propriety of expression, the holiness of truth — it is excellence of character, produced by excellence of principle. Its moral influence is Divinely designed to be, and actually has been in every age, for the healing of the nations. 3. Its extent. The subjects of the Redeemer's kingdom shall be numerous as the drops of morning dew, which sparkle upon the grass in countless profusion when the day breaks, and the glory of the rising sun is poured over the earth. Sinners of every class will perceive so much beauty and evidence in Divine truth, that they will have no more power to resist its illumination, to elude its force, and to remain longer in subjection to their errors, their vices, and their prejudices. II. THE CERTAINTY OF ITS ACCOMPLISHMENT. 1. The immutability of Jehovah's counsel. 2. The perfection of the Redeemer's atonement. 3. The invincibility of Divine grace. (W. Hutchings.)
