A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. 1Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. 2Beautifully situated, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, in the north, the city of the great King. 3God, Himself, is known in her palaces as a refuge. 4For when the kings gathered against the city, 5When they saw it, they were stunned, and quickly retreated. 6Panic seized them there, and pain like a woman in childbirth. 7You destroyed them like an east wind can shatter the mighty ships of Tarshish. 8As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will make her secure forever. Selah. 9Within Your Temple we meditate upon Your loving-kindness, O God. 10Like Your name, O God, so Your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. 11Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of Your judgments. 12Walk about Zion, and go all around her; count the number of her towers. 13Consider her fortified walls, take note of her palaces; that you may tell of them to future generations. 14For this God is our God forever and ever; He will ever be our guide, even unto death.
