A Psalm of David 1The earth is the LORD's, and all that is in it; the world, and all they who live in it. 2For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4Only those with clean hands, and a pure heart; who have not trusted their soul to vain idols, nor swears by a false god. 5They shall receive blessing from the LORD, and a right relationship with the God of their salvation. 6Such is the generation of them who seek Him, who seek Your face, O God of Jacob. Selah. Verses 7-10 describe the solemn procession that brought the ark of the LORD into the holy Temple. 7Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you ancient doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 9Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah. Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved. Bible Hub |
