On the return from the captivity 1Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights in obeying His commandments. 2His children shall be mighty upon earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3Wealth and riches shall be in his house; and his righteousness lasts forever. 4Light shines in the darkness for the upright; he (the upright person) is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. 5A good man shows favor, and is generous; he will conduct his affairs with discretion. 6Surely, he shall never be moved; he shall be long remembered. 7He shall not fear bad news; he confidently trusts in the LORD. 8His heart is secure, he shall not be afraid, in the end he will look in triumph upon his enemies. 9He will freely distribute and give to the poor; his integrity endures forever; he shall be raised high with honor. 10The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash his teeth, and waste away. The desire of the wicked shall perish. Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved. Bible Hub |
