1And Jesus watched the rich men dropping their gifts into the treasury. 2And He saw also a certain poor widow dropping two mites in there. 3And He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow has dropped in more than all of them; 4For all these have given their offerings to God out of their abundance; while she, of her poverty, has dropped in all she had to live on.” 5And as some disciples commented on the Temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts to God, He said, 6“As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there shall not be one stone left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” 7And they asked Him, “Master, when shall these things occur? And what sign will indicate they are about happen?” 8And He said, “Be careful that you are not deceived; for many shall come in My name, saying, ‘I am Christ; and the time is near.’ Do not follow them. 9But when you shall hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened; for these things must happen first; but the end will not come right away.” 10Then He said to them, “Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11And there shall be great earthquakes in various places, famines, plagues; fearful events and great signs shall come from heaven. 12But before all these events, they shall seize and persecute you, dragging you to the synagogues, and into prisons, and before government officials for My name’s sake. 13But this shall be your opportunity to testify for Me. 14So make up your minds not to worry beforehand about how you shall answer the charges against you; 15For I will give you wisdom and the words, which all your adversaries shall not be able to contradict nor resist. 16You will be betrayed by parents, brothers, sisters, family members, and friends; and some of you shall be put to death. 17And you shall be hated by everyone for My name’s sake. 18But not a hair of your head will perish. 19By standing firm, you will win and save your souls. 20And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that its desolation is near. 21Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let those who are in the city get out; and do not let those in the country enter the city. 22For these are the days of God’s vengeance, that all the prophetic writings may be fulfilled. 23But it will be dreadful for those that are with child and that are nursing children in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24And they shall fall by the sword, and be taken away captive into all countries; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” 25“And there shall be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth, distress of nations, with perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea waves. 26People will faint from fear and apprehensive of those things which are coming upon the earth; for the heavenly bodies shall be shaken. 27And at that time, they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28And when these things begin to occur, then stand up, and lift your heads; because your redemption is drawing near.” 29And He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees: 30When they sprout buds and leaves, you know for yourselves that summer is near. 31Even so, when you see these things happen, you know that the kingdom of God is near. 32Truly, I tell you, this generation shall certainly not pass away until all these things are fulfilled. 33Heaven and earth shall pass away; but My words shall not pass away. 34And guard your hearts, so that at no time your hearts are dulled with carousing, drunkenness, and the anxieties of this life - so that day does not catch you unawares. 35For like a trap, it can snare anyone in the whole world. 36Be ever watchful, therefore, and in prayer, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall occur, and to stand before the Son of man.” 37And every day, Jesus was teaching in the Temple; and at night He went out, and stayed in the mount that is called the Mount of Olives. 38And crowds of people came early in the morning to hear Him in the Temple.
