1And the LORD said to Moses, 2“Command the sons of Israel to bring you clear oil, beaten from olives, for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. 3Outside of the veil of meeting, in the tabernacle of meeting, shall Aaron keep the lamps in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute forever in your generations. 4He shall keep the lamps in order upon the pure lampstand before the LORD continually. 5“And you shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts shall be in one cake. 6And you shall set them in two rows, six in a row, upon the table of pure gold, before the LORD. 7And you shall put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 8Every Sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD regularly, as a gift from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. 9And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto them of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.” 10And the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the Israelites: and this son of the Israelite woman fought with and a man of Israel in the camp; 11And the Israelite woman's son blasphemed the name of the LORD with a curse. And so they brought him to Moses (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan), 12And they put him in prison, until the will of the LORD might be revealed to them. 13And the LORD said to Moses, 14“Take him that has cursed outside the camp; and let all those that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 15And you shall say to the Israelites, ‘Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. 16And anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him. Any sojourner, as well as anyone who is born in the land, when he blasphemes the name of the LORD, shall be put to death. 17‘And anyone who murders a person shall surely be put to death. 18And anyone who kills an animal shall make it good - animal for animal. 19And if a man injures his neighbor- as he has done, so shall it be done to him - 20Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused an injury to a man, so shall it be done to him. 21And if anyone kills an animal, he shall restore it; and anyone who murders a person shall be put to death. 22You shall have the same law for the sojourner as for someone of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.’” 23And Moses spoke to the Israelites, that they should bring the one that had cursed outside the camp, and stone him with stones. And the Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses. Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved. Bible Hub |
