1“Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in Me. 2In My Father's house there is plenty of room for all; if it were not so, I would have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back, and receive (welcome) you Myself; that you may also be where I am. 4And you know the way to where I am going.” 5Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way there?” 6Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father, except by Me. 7If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well; and from now on, you do know Him, and have seen Him.” 8Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” 9Jesus answered, “Do you not know Me, Philip? Have I been with you for all this time, and you still do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father; and how can you say then, ‘Show us the Father.’? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My Own; but rather the Father, Who dwells in Me, does His work through Me. 11Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me; or at least believe Me based on the evidence of the very works, themselves.” 12“Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works that I do; and greater works than these shall he do; because I am going to My Father. 13And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. 15If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16And I will ask the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter (Advocate), that He may abide (reside and remain) with you forever; 17He is the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him, nor does it know Him; but you know Him; for He lives within you. 18I will not leave you comfortless, as orphans; I will come to you. 19Soon the world will see Me no more; but you will see Me. And because I live, you shall live also. 20On that day you shall realize that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. 21Those who have and obey My commandments are the ones that love Me; and whoever loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest (reveal) Myself to him.” 22Judas (not Judas Iscariot) asked Him, “Lord, why do You intend to manifest (reveal) Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23Jesus answered, “If a man loves Me, he will keep (obey) My words; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our home with him. 24Anyone that does not love Me does not keep My sayings. The words that you hear are not Mine, but are from the Father, Who sent Me.” 25“All these things I have spoken to you while I am still present with you. 26But when the Father sends the Comforter, Who is the Holy Spirit, in My name, He shall teach you all things, and will remind you of everything that I have said to you. 27Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; the peace that I give to you is a gift the world cannot give. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor be afraid. 28You have heard Me tell you I am going away, and am coming back again to you. If you truly loved Me, you would be glad that I said ‘I am going to the Father’; for My Father is greater than I. 29I have told you now, before it happens, so that, when it does happen, you will believe. 30I will not say much more to you; because the prince of this world (Satan) is coming. though he has no hold on Me. 31But I do exactly what the Father has required of Me, yielding Myself up to death, so that the world might know that I love and obey the Father, Who commands that I give My life a ransom for many.
