1This is the book (written record) of the generations of Adam. When God created man, He made him in the His Own likeness: 2Male and female He created them; and blessed them, and, in the day they were created, God called them “mankind”. 3And when Adam had lived a hundred thirty years, he fathered a son in his own likeness – in his very own image - and he called him Seth. 4And after he had begotten Seth, Adam lived another eight hundred years: and he had both sons and daughters: 5And Adam lived a total of nine hundred thirty years: and then he died. 6And when Seth was a hundred five years old, he fathered Enos. 7And after Seth fathered Enos, Seth lived eight hundred seven years, and had sons and daughters: 8And all the years of Seth’s life were nine hundred twelve years; and then he died. 9And Enos lived ninety years before fathering Cainan. 10And Enos lived after he fathered Cainan eight hundred fifteen years, and fathered both sons and daughters. 11And all the days of Enos were nine hundred five years; and he died. 12And Cainan lived seventy years, before fathering Mahalalel: 13And Cainan lived after he fathered Mahalalel eight hundred forty years, and fathered sons and daughters. 14And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred ten years: and he died. 15And Mahalalel lived sixty-five years before fathering Jared. 16And Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared eight hundred thirty years, and fathered sons and daughters. 17All the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety-five years: and he died. 18And Jared lived a hundred sixty-two years before fathering Enoch:.19And Jared lived after he fathered Enoch eight hundred years, and fathered sons and daughters. 20And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty-two years; and he died. 21And Enoch lived sixty-five years before fathering Methuselah. 22And Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah for three hundred years, and he fathered sons and daughters. 23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years. 24And Enoch walked faithfully with God, and he was no more; for God took him away. 25And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty-seven years before fathering Lamech. 26And Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech seven hundred eighty-two years, and he fathered sons and daughters. 27And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty-nine years; and he died. 28And Lamech lived a hundred eighty-two years before fathering a son. 29And he named his son Noah, and said, “He shall comfort and bring us relief from our work and the toil of our hands, caused by the ground which the LORD has cursed.” 30And after fathering Noah, Lamech lived five hundred ninety-five years, and he fathered sons and daughters. 31And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy-seven years: and he died. 32And when Noah was five hundred years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
