1Paul, an apostle - not appointed by a group of men, nor by one man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, Who raised Jesus from the dead, 2All the brothers and sisters who are here join with me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia. 3Grace and peace to you, from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might rescue us from this present evil world, according to the will and plan of God and our Father, 5To Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 6I am astonished that you have so quickly deserted Him Who called you to live in the grace of Christ and have turned to another gospel, 7Which is really no gospel at all; but a perversion of it, deliberately twisted by some that would mislead you by a distortion of the true gospel of Christ. 8But if anyone - we, or an angel from heaven - preach any gospel to you other than what we have preached to you, let him be under God’s curse. 9As we have already said, and now I repeat, “If anyone preaches any gospel to you other than what you have received, let him be accursed.”. 10Am I seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or do I seek to please people? For if I were trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. 11Understand, brothers and sisters, that the gospel which I preached is not from man, or of human reasoning. 12For I did not receive or learn this gospel message from any man, but by the direct revelation of Jesus Christ. 13For you have heard of my previous way of life in the Jews' religion, and how intensely I persecuted the church of God, and tried to destroy it. 14And I advanced in Judaism (the Jews' religion) above many in my own nation, being more extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15But then God, Who separated me from my mother's womb, called me by His grace, when it pleased Him, 16To reveal His Son to me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles; my immediate response was not to consult with any human being; 17Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who had been apostles of this gospel before I was; but instead, I went into Arabia, and later returned to Damascus. 18Then, after three years had passed, I went up to Jerusalem to meet Peter, and stayed with him for fifteen days. 19But I saw none of the other apostles, except James, the Lord's brother. 20These things that I am writing to you, I assure you, before God, are not a lie. 21Then I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia, 22And I was personally unknown to the churches of Christ in Judaea; 23And they had heard only the report that, “He who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once had tried to destroy.” 24And they praised God because of me.
