1“You are the children of the LORD your God: you must not cut yourselves, nor shave the front of your head for the dead; 2For you are a people holy unto the LORD your God; the LORD has chosen you to for a treasured possession for Himself, over all the nations on the earth. 3“You must not eat any abominable thing. 4These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, sheep, goat, 5The hart (deer), gazelle, roebuck, wild goat, antelope, wild ox, and the chamois. 6And any animal that divides the hoof, and cleaves the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that you shall eat. 7Nevertheless these you shall not eat that chew the cud, or that divide the cloven hoof; such as the camel, the hare, and the rock badger; for they chew the cud, but do not divide the hoof; therefore, they are unclean to you. 8And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet does not chew the cud, it is unclean to you: you must not eat their meat, nor touch their dead carcass. 9“These you shall eat of all the marine life in the water: all that have fins and scales: 10But whatever has no fins and scales you may not eat; it is unclean to you. 11“You may eat any clean bird. 12But these are those which you must not eat: the eagle, ossifrage, osprey, 13Buzzard, falcon, any species of kite, 14Every species of raven, 15Ostrich, night hawk, sea gull, any species of the hawk, 16The little screech owl, the great owl, swan, 17The pelican, the carrion vulture, the cormorant, 18The stork, any species of heron, hoopoe, and the bat. 19And every creeping thing that flies is unclean to you: they must not be eaten. 20But you may eat all clean fowls. 21“You must not eat anything that dies of itself: you may give it to the sojourner who is in your town, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner: for you are a holy people unto the LORD your God. You must not boil a kid in its mother's milk. 22“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your harvest, so that the field brings forth year by year. 23And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which He shall choose to place His name, the tithe of your grain, wine, or oil, and the firstborn of your herds and your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. 24And if that place is too distant for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set His name upon, when the LORD your God has blessed you: 25Then you shall exchange it for money, and take the money with you, and go to the place where the LORD your God shall choose: 26And you shall use that money for whatever your soul desires; for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household, 27And the Levite that is within your gates; you must not neglect him; for he has no share nor inheritance with you. 28At the end of three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall store it within your town: 29And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you), and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your town, shall come, and eat and be satisfied; so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
