1So they brought the ark of God, and placed it inside the tent that David had erected for it; and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God. 2And when David had finished offering the burnt and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD. 3And he distributed to every one of Israel, both man and woman, a loaf of bread, and a portion of meat and a cake of raisons. 4And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to extol, thank and praise the LORD God of Israel: 5Asaph led the group, and next to him in rank were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemi-ramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom; and Jeiel with psalteries and harps; but Asaph sounded the cymbals; 6Benaiah and Jahaziel, the priests, blew the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God. 7Then on that day David delivered this psalm to Asaph and his brothers, to thank the LORD: 8“Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people. 9Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him, speak of all His wondrous works. 10Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of them who seek the LORD rejoice. 11Seek the LORD and His strength, seek His presence continually. 12Remember the wonders that He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He has pronounced, 13O you servants of Israel, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones. 14He is the LORD our God; His justice is seen in all the earth. 15Be ever mindful of His covenant; the promise which He made to a thousand generations, 16The covenant He made with Abraham, and His oath sworn to Isaac, 17He confirmed it to Jacob, and to Israel as an everlasting covenant: 18‘To you will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance, 19When you were few in number, and strangers in it’. 20And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another, 21He allowed no man to oppress them; yea, He warned kings on their behalf: 22‘Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm’. 23Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; proclaim from day to day His salvation. 24Declare His glory among the nations; His marvelous works among all peoples. 25For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods. 26For all the gods of the people are lifeless idols; but the LORD made the heavens! 27Glory and splendor are found in His presence; strength and joy are in His place (sanctuary). 28Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the people, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 29Ascribe to the LORD the glory due unto His name; bring an offering (of thanksgiving), and come before Him; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness. 30Tremble in awe and reverence before Him, all the earth; the world is firmly established, it will not be moved. 31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; and let men say among the nations, ‘The LORD reigns.’ 32Let the sea roar, and all that is in it; let the fields rejoice, and all that is in them. 33Let the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because He comes to judge the earth. 34O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 35Shout, ‘Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise. 36Blessed be the LORD God of Israel forever and ever.’” And all the people said, “Amen.” and praised the LORD. 37So David left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to minister there before the ark continually, as required every day; 38And he left Obed-edom, with his sixty-eight brethren to minister with them. Obed-edom, son of Jeduthun, and Hosah were gatekeepers; 39And David left Zadok, the priest, and his brethren, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon, 40To present burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar, continually, morning and evening, in accordance with all that is written in the law of the LORD, which He commanded Israel; 41And with them were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen by name, to give thanks to the LORD, “for His mercy endures forever”; 42And with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets, cymbals, and other musical instruments, to accompany songs of praise to God. And the sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate. 43Then all the people left, each to his home; and David went home to bless his family.
