Cowper, Frances Maria, was born in England in 1727; and died in 1797. She was the wife of Major Cowper, a sister of the [53]Rev. Martin Madan, and a cousin, through her mother, of [54]William Cowper, the poet. Her poems, Original Poems on Various Occasions, by a Lady, were published in 1792.
