I have no other thought but this,

That Thou wilt faithful prove;

For Thou didst give Thyself, O Christ,

In Thy abundant love.

For not alone the word, O God,

In burning letters came;

The Word Incarnate dwelt with us,

And wore our human name.

III

Who can the grace of God deny,

To whom the Gift is given?

Or doubt the love of Christ for man,

Who came for man from heaven?

IV

O love of God, surpassing great!

Who would not trust its power,

But doubt the faithfulness of God,

In every needy hour?

V
