New American Standard Bible A Contrite Sinners Prayer for Pardon. For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. 1Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
For I know my transgressions,
Against You, You only, I have sinned
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being,
Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Make me to hear joy and gladness,
Hide Your face from my sins
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
Do not cast me away from Your presence
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation;
O Lord, open my lips,
For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it;
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
By Your favor do good to Zion;
Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices, New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Hub |
