New American Standard Bible God Speaks of Nature and Its Beings 1Do you know the time the mountain goats give birth? Do you observe the calving of the deer?
Can you count the months they fulfill,
They kneel down, they bring forth their young,
Their offspring become strong, they grow up in the open field;
Who sent out the wild donkey free?
To whom I gave the wilderness for a home
He scorns the tumult of the city,
He explores the mountains for his pasture
Will the wild ox consent to serve you,
Can you bind the wild ox in a furrow with ropes,
Will you trust him because his strength is great
Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain
The ostriches wings flap joyously
For she abandons her eggs to the earth
And she forgets that a foot may crush them,
She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers;
Because God has made her forget wisdom,
When she lifts herself on high,
Do you give the horse his might?
Do you make him leap like the locust?
He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
He laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
The quiver rattles against him,
With shaking and rage he races over the ground,
As often as the trumpet sounds he says, Aha!
Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars,
Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up
On the cliff he dwells and lodges,
From there he spies out food;
His young ones also suck up blood; New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Hub |
